Our Story
Storehouse Dallas is a thriving church and house of prayer founded by John and Tracy Eckert. It all began in 2005 when God asked them to start a house of prayer in Dallas.
They opened the doors of their home and posted a sign on the door inviting people to come in and join the prayer happening inside.
A few years later God provided a building space on 4319 Alpha Road and we’ve called it home ever since! Though we have grown in size since the early days, we have kept our focus on Jesus and our community that feels like family.
What We Believe
WE BELIEVE the Bible is the true and finished inspired word of God. It is the final authority for all we believe and how we are to live (1 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).WE BELIEVE salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9; Acts 4:12; Rom. 6:22; Rom. 8:29; Rom. 10:10; Rom. 8:5-8; Col. 3:1-3; 1 Cor. 2:4-5; 1 Cor. 12:3; Luke 10:22; John 14:8).
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, possessing a perfect divine nature and a perfect human nature, forever joined together in one person. We believe in His incarnation, the virgin birth, His death, burial, and resurrection. His atoning work reconciles His Father to us, and He is a sacrifice for the sins of men and women.
WE BELIEVE Jesus Christ baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit and fire. The Holy Spirit regenerates, forever indwells and equips us for godly living and service. Signs and wonders, as well as gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament, are operative today and testify to the presence of the kingdom and edify the Church to fulfill its calling and mission (John 1:33; John 3:5-7; John 14:16-17; Gal. 5:22-23; 1 Cor. 12:4-11).
WE BELIEVE one true God exists in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal in deity, power, and glory (Gen. 1:1-2; Psalm 33:6; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 1:10-11; Luke 1:35; 24:52; John 1:1-3, 14; 10:30; 14:9, 16; 16:7-15; 20:28; 1 Cor. 2:10-11; Eph. 4:4-6; 1 Cor. 6:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Rev. 1:4-5, 8; 5:12-14).WE BELIEVE the Church is God's primary instrument through which He is fulfilling His redemptive purposes in the earth (Col. 1:18; Eph. 4:11-16).
WE BELIEVE that God called and gifted men and women to proclaim the Gospel, serve in all levels of ministry, and do all the works of the Kingdom. He has given men and women the work of the ministry as apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists (Acts 2:17-18; John 14:12; Gal. 3:28).
WE BELIEVE that God has called the Church to preach the Gospel to all nations, and to especially remember and minister to the needs of the poor, widows and orphans through sacrificial giving and practical service (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Gal. 2:10; James 1:27).
WE BELIEVE in the literal Second Coming of Christ at the end of the age when He will return to Earth personally and visibly to consummate His Kingdom. We are praying for a great end-time harvest of souls and the emergence of a victorious Church that will experience unprecedented unity, purity, and power in the Holy Spirit (Matt. 24:30; Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16; Rev. 19:7-8; Acts 2:17-21; Matt. 24:14).
WE BELIEVE in the literal, bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust for the Day of Judgment. For those of us who have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on our behalf, this resurrection is for eternal life in fellowship with God. Those who are not justified by faith in Jesus are resurrected for an eternal judgment (Dan. 12:2; Matt. 25:31-34, 41, 46; Tit. 3:7; Rom. 8:30; John 11:25; Rev. 20:4-6, 12-15).
WE BELIEVE in the one new man, both Jew and Gentile (Eph. 2:14-16).WE BELIEVE in practicing the two Christian sacraments ordained by Christ: 1) baptism in the name of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and 2) the Lord's Supper. They are signs of grace, and God's good will toward us, by which he works invisibly in us. They strengthen and confirm our faith in Him.
WE BELIEVE marriage is between one man and one woman in covenant under God.
WE BELIEVE that life begins in the womb at conception. Because we uphold the sanctity of life and believe that all people are created in the image of God, we believe that abortion violates God's prohibition of murder. At the same time, we have compassion for mothers with unplanned pregnancies and those that have suffered from the trauma of abortion.
WE BELIEVE that the church is called to help direct mothers to life-affirming resources and to help restore those impacted by abortion.
WE BELIEVE that God created human beings in His image and likeness either as male or female. While we affirm that the church is called to love and reach those in the LGBTQ+ community with the Gospel, we also uphold that biological males are men and biological females are women. To distort, confuse, or seek to change God-given gender and sexuality is contrary to the Scriptures.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is,
seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvationHe came down from heaven;
by the power of the Holy Spirit
He became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day He rose again
in accordance with the scriptures;
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and His kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
